The room was spacy, bathroom big and clean. Internet was very importnat to us and it worked very well (free as promised). Safe parking free of charge. Close walking distance to the small centre with nice restaurants and shops.
Our room faced the old church and we had the windows open the first night and in the early morning the bells started ringing and we had a harsh "wake up call".

I spent only 1 night in Hotel Katharinen. I enjoyed the breafast!
There was no plain curtain on the windows so when I made natural light by the windows I was visible from the station and the squre which I disliked since I didn't wear shirt during my morning preparations...

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location was perfect, right next to the train station, making it really convenient for exploring the surrounding area. The room I stayed in was spacious and clean, with all the necessary amenities like ironing facilities and a mini-bar. The hotel also had a beautiful terrace where I could sit and relax, enjoying the garden furniture. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure I had everything I needed. The spa and wellness center was a great addition, offering a range of treatments that left me feeling completely refreshed. this place exceeded my expectations and provided a luxurious and comfortable experience.
I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends.

Although some people would find the location a bit noisy (see below) the location opposite the railway station and on the edge of the pedestrian centre of Unnah was perfect for me. The hotel is not very pretty externally, but is attractive and spacious inside. The staff were helpful and my lack of German was not not a problem at all - most of the staff spoke excellent English. Unnah has excellent railway and road connections and has an attaractive shopping and eating area; the Catholick Church is the other side of the hotel from the railway and the Evangelical Church a very short walk. There is a lovely park nearby.
I chose the railway side; the trains (which run through the night I understand) were quite noisy with the windows open, but I heard nothing with them closed and slept very well indeed; I do not know if there is air conditioning. The Catholick Church is the other side and the bell is very loud - my daughter had a room that side and it woke her earlier than she would have wished.

I really enjoyed my stay in this city, as the hotel was situated right next to the metro station and ReWe market. This made it so easy to explore the surroundings and grab a bite. The hotel itself had great cleanliness standards, impeccable facilities, good parking options, and friendly staff. The breakfast selection was also excellent.
Cannot find any fault.

The atmosphere was relaxed so it was easy to feel at home. The staff were pleasant and courteous and always of smart appearance. The location next to the railway and bus stations served our purposes ideally.
Maybe it's not a " German " tradition, but it would have been nice on occasions to have the use of a bar within the hotel.

Convenient location and good food. Enjoyed the close proximity to the train station which made it easy to reach the hotel with my luggage. the hotel is located close to the town center, allowing me to take a stroll around the area and enjoy the surroundings. The food in the restaurant was enjoyable with a variety of options to choose from on the menu.
Poor room quality and air quality. The room was in dire need of refurbishment with outdated decor and very poor air quality.

The hotel is incredibly close to the train station, making it convenient for travelers. Its central location allows for easy access to the lively city center. The staff is attentive to guests needs, and the breakfast selection is decent.
There is a constant unpleasant smell that lingers around the hotel lobby.

The breakfast had a great selection of food and everything tasted fresh. The hotel had a great location, being in close proximity to both the bus and train station, making it easy to explore the city. The room was spacious and clean, with comfortable bedding.
The lobby and dining area were a bit outdated and could use some renovations. The Wi-Fi connection was not very strong and quite slow, making it difficult to work or stream videos.
